Terms of Service

Effective July 6, 2026. Chaser Dot is operated by Hall Enterprises ("we", "us"). Playing the game or using this site means you accept these terms. They're short on purpose — read them.

1. A game — not a weather service

This is the one that matters most. Chaser Dot is entertainment built on real weather data. It is not a weather service, a warning system, or safety guidance of any kind. Never chase, navigate, travel, or take shelter based on anything in the game or on this site. When real weather threatens you, follow real warnings from the National Weather Service and your local officials. We make no guarantee that in-game weather is current, complete, or correct.

2. Your account

3. Conduct

The Conduct & safety rules are part of these terms: be decent in chat, no harassment, no slurs, no cheating, no exploiting bugs for gain (report them instead — there's a flag button in-game). GMs enforce the rules; we may warn, mute, suspend, ban, or reverse ill-gotten in-game gains at our judgment.

4. The beta deal — and the wipe

Chaser Dot is in active beta. That means: things break, numbers get rebalanced, features change or vanish, and downtime happens. Most important: this is a test beta for our internal community, and there will be a full wipe before Chaser Dot opens to the public — every character, dollar, card, and base resets to zero, once, so everyone starts the public launch on a level field. It's the fair thing to do. We may also reset progress at other times if the game needs it. We'll communicate loudly (the news page ships with every update), but you accept beta life — including the wipe — by playing.

5. In-game money is not money

Dollars, EXP, cards, cosmetics, bases, and everything else in the game are fictional game content with no real-world value. They can't be bought, sold, cashed out, or transferred for real money — including third-party marketplaces. There are currently no real-money purchases in Chaser Dot; if that ever changes, these terms will be updated first and you'll hear about it plainly.

6. Content and ownership

The game, its art, code, names, and data pipelines belong to us or our licensors. Weather data comes from the National Weather Service via WeatherWise; historical damage-survey data from NOAA — real data belongs to the public and its providers. Anything you create in the game (names, chat, base layouts) you license to us to display and operate the game. Don't use our art or brand outside the game without asking — screenshots and videos of your own play are always fine (encouraged, honestly).

7. No warranty; limits on liability

The game and site are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent the law allows, Hall Enterprises is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost data/progress, arising from your use of the game — and our total liability for any claim is capped at $50. Nothing here limits liability the law says can't be limited.

8. Termination

You can stop playing any time (and ask for your data to be deleted — see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms, or shut down the beta or the game itself; if we shut it all down we'll say so on the news page first.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes belong in the state or federal courts located in Kentucky, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

10. Changes

We may update these terms as the game grows. Material changes get announced on the news page with a new effective date; continuing to play after that means you accept them. Questions? [email protected] or the Discord.
